Pentrisoft Registration V1.0
----------------------------
Hi! The purpose of this program is to gather all of the information about
you, your Amiga, and the programming languages that you use. To help keep
the information as accurate as possible, please be sure to complete all the
information. As you fill information in one field(box), the cursor will move
on to the next (easy!).
Once you have typed in your name, address, and preferred programing
languages, please indicate what hardware you have by clicking on the boxes
at the bottom of the screen.
There are two "cycling" gadgets. For example, you can cycle through the
different Amiga models until yours appears. You can select the amount of
memory you have using this method as well.
The only thing left to do is to indicate which processor you have, as well
as the version of the OS (operating system) you are running. This is easy.
All you have to do is to select the "Detect" button, and all the information
will be retrieved.
Once you have filled in all your details, select the "Save" button, which is
on the lower-left hand side of the window.
The details can be amended at any time. Just alter the information and hit
the save button. You can even reboot your amiga, and then alter the
information as you wish.
Once completed, mail this disk to:
MARK HARMAN
3 Highlea Close,
St. Leonards on-sea,
East Sussex,
TN37 7SS.
(Before you send the disk though, remember to take a copy of the latest
stuff-located in the Pentrisoft drawer)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
KNOWN BUGS (I'm working on them -honest!!)
Program will crash if the disk is removed when it needs to access. Ok, a
lazy one, but keep your hands to yourself, and you'll be ok.
If this program is run on a new Amiga, or an Amiga with a processor faster
than a 68040, the autodetect will read "Unknown" for processor type.
Solution: We will assume you've go load of money, so just buy a slower Amiga
to clear this bug!!
That's it!? (or do you know better?)
If so, contact Mark at the above address.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
(UPDATE ON 3/6/96)-Version 1.1
------------------------------
First bug removed-program does not crash when disk is removed, but informs
the user to insert a disk.
FEATURES ADDED
--------------
Disk in drive does not have to be called "Pentrisoft" (Useful if program is
sent out on coverdisks).
Will inform user if he has not given all the necessary information. Please
note: not all information is important, so you can leave some info out, such
as the "Other hardware" field.
Quirky window refresh removed when the user quits from the register screen
instead of the information screen.
That's it!! Well, as far as I know, this should be it, but let us know if
you find anything odd!
